America

Hello all,

We are starting our journey on the 1st of June with a flight from Brisbane to Los Angeles.

1-June

Flew out of Australia and spent 13 hours on a Qantas 747-400 and arrived in LA. I had the window seat the whole way travelling with my mum and cousin. The outside temp was -36.0C to -38.0C in daytime in the Southern Hemisphere and in the night it got to -42.0C to -45.0C. In the Northern Hemisphere the night temp was -47.0C to -53.0C.

Arrived tired at 6:05 am to a cold 14 degrees on the begging of summer. We hired a mini bus and drove 20km or 13miles to Venice Beach. We are staying in a beach front hotel but the sand is 1km away from the water. Next we traveled to Hollywood and saw some spectacular supercars including a “Rolls Royce Phantom”  and a “McLaren P1”.

4-June

Today we went to Universal Studios in Hollywood, this is an amazing theme park with  awesome “VR” rides and real rollercoasters. A “VR” ride is a ride where you get in a seat and it moves around in a room with monitors also sometimes 3D simulating what a real rollercoaster is when your not moving. Some of the rides were The Simpson’s, Shrek, Minions, Jurassic Park, Transformers and Mummy In The Tomb.

5-June

Today we moved hotels only 100 meters away but heaps better. Our room has a great view, it is on the 3rd floor and is room 303. We also went bike riding up to Malibu and came back to swim near the pier at Muscle Beach. Tonight we also ate sausages on the rooftop.

6-June

Today we left Venice and headed East for an hour to Disneyland. Disneyland has around 100,000 people in there everyday and there is 2 parks. There is the Disneyland side which is more of an experience and then there is the adventure side where there is heaps of rollercoasters and rides. We spent all day at Disneyland and left at 10:00pm , then we drove for another hour to San Diego. The hotel we are staying  is called The Grand Hayatt.

7-June

Today we went to Belmont Park where me and my dad went on a Wavehouse, there are only 4 in the world. A wavehouse is a machine that makes a wave of water that you can surf on, the wave has three height settings 5feet, 7feet and 9feet. Me and my dad have been practicing for 6 the last months on a Flowrider.

Check out some wave house clips of myself at the San Diego Wave House.

9-June

Today we flew in a small 19 seat plane over the Grand Canyon, we landed, walked for many hours and took many photos. Seeing the Grand Canyon is an amazing adventure. The Canyon is 1.2km deep and is unbelievable. Tonight we spent the night on the Vegas Strip viewing the casinos, water shows and millions of lights. Also tonight I saw a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport.

  1. Hi Ray, Nathan wants to know if you have seen a Bugatti Veyron on the streets there? What is the temperature difference when you change from Fahrenheit to Celsius? Have you flushed the toilet to see if the water spins the other way? What about the Hollywood walk of fame, have you been there yet? Have you seen any famous people?
Where are you off to next?

There was a really small one on the Gold Coast this week. The photos of the Grand Canyon were spectacular. Hope you’ve got lots more to show us when you get back
